Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

This policy explains what data the checkend.com website collects and why. Checkend and its owners operate this website (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, write to help@checkend.com.

The short version

What this policy covers

This policy covers the checkend.com website only.

It does not cover the Checkend software that you deploy yourself. That software runs in your own Cloudflare account, and the errors, stack traces, request details and user data it collects go to your account, not to us. For that data, you decide what to collect and how long to keep it, and you are responsible for it under the privacy laws that apply to you.

It also does not cover other websites that we link to, such as GitHub. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to learn how many people visit and which pages they read. We host Plausible ourselves, at analytics.furvur.com, so your visit data does not go to a third-party analytics company.

Plausible loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the banner. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Plausible does not load.

When it runs, Plausible records the page address, the referring website, your browser, operating system, device type and country. It uses your IP address and browser to make a daily visitor count that changes every day, and it does not store the IP address itself. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other websites. The data is in aggregate form only: we cannot identify you from it.

To change your choice, use Privacy choices. It is also in the footer of every page.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies.

Your analytics choice is kept in your browser’s local storage, under the name checkend-consent, so that we do not ask you again on every page. It never leaves your browser. To remove it, clear the site data for checkend.com in your browser.

Cloudflare, which hosts this website, can set a strictly necessary security cookie when it must tell people from automated traffic. It does not use that cookie for analytics or ads.

Hosting and server data

Cloudflare serves this website. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page you ask for. Cloudflare handles this data under its privacy policy. We do not turn on request logging for this website.

Email

If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and your message. We use them only to answer you, and we delete them when we no longer need them to help you.

Why we process data

Who receives data

We do not sell or rent personal data. Only these service providers process data for this website:

We can also disclose data when the law requires it.

Where data is processed

We are based in Canada. Cloudflare runs a global network, so your request can go through a data centre outside your country. When data leaves your country, we rely on the protections that our providers offer for such transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, ask us to stop or limit its use, or ask for a copy. You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time. To ask, write to help@checkend.com. We answer within 30 days.

If you do not hear from us within 7 days, write again from a different email account. Our reply may have gone to your spam folder.

You can also complain to a privacy regulator. In Canada, that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In the EU, the UK and other places, it is your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is for software developers. It is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect data about children.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we also note it on the home page.
